Pardee Lake Recreation Area opens for the 2013 season on Feb. 14th for fishing

Pardee Lake Recreation planted 3,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout this morning and will plant another 3,000 lbs. on Friday for this year's opener. The California Department of Fish and Game has also scheduled a 2,000 lb. plant to coincide with the Parks opener.

The opening for campers is on February 13th, and the 14th for fishing. In openers past the most successful set up from the bank has been power bait on a sliding sinker setup, black woolie buggers on a slow retrieve and small silver/blue Kastmasters. Trollers will be top lining, using three to four colors of lead and downriggers set to 10-20 feet. Fish are usually found in very shallow between the Dam and the Mouth and upriver in and around Columbia. Check at the Marina for all your fishing supplies, snacks, updated fishing information and hot spots.

The forecast calls for clear skies and warming temperatures. Water level is about 10-12 feet below the spillway and holding.

The Management and Staff would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all our friends, campers and anglers. Good luck at opener.
