Trollers are doing well at Pardee Lake for holdover trout
10-26-2012
Fred Dorman
Pardee Lake Recreation Area will close and lock the gates for this season on Sunday November 4th. The Park will reopen for the 2013 season Thursday February 13th for campers and the 14th for fishing.
Trollers have been doing well in the Sugar Bowl and just inside the Narrows again this week. Top lining and downriggers set to 20-30 feet have been very successful for some nice holdover Trout in this area. Some anglers have been working the South End with mixed results; many are reporting catching catfish while trolling in this area. The hot lures for Trout continue to be Thomas buoyant lures in gold/red, rainbow and fire tiger 18 inches behind flashers sling blades or dodgers tipped with a crawler.
The Woodpile and Stony Point Landing continue to be productive for bank fishermen. Cast out about 30 to 50 feet from the bank at either location and put your bait in the deeper channel that runs in front of both areas. White Power bait continues to be hot ticket for Trout. Some Catfish have been taken from the coves along the eastern shore; chicken livers are working the best.
The management Team and Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Visitors, Guests, Patrons, Residents and Friends for another great season and hope you all return next year to share and enjoy this awesome facility and its surrounding. We hope your off season is prosperous, healthy and safe and we look forward to seeing all our old friends and lots of new ones at next year's opener...
