Fishing at Lake Morena was an up and down proposition this week

Lake Conditions: Surface temperature is 46.6 and 46.2 @ 20ft.
Water Clarity: Water visibility is at about 2' to 3'.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in the Lake Morena area so be sure you acquire one before you arrive. The State Licenses is required.

Trout: It's been an up and down week. We'll just concentrate on the ups. Mac Mitch roped a 7 lb 2 oz rainbow while his partners Rick Morse and Randy Minniear were busy fooling their fair share, see the photo above. All were in Paradise cove using Power corn nuggets and Power worms. Kevin Lauders was here a couple of days this week and did quite well for himself. Casting from the shore of Geezer cove he was able to fool a 5 lb 4 oz 'bow with green powerbait to complete his limit of 15 lbs 5 oz one of his days here. Bass - No Bass were reported this week.

Catfish: A few cats turned up for Mile Lopo of Pine Valley. His two whiskers were nailed in the narrows with mackerel. Mike also managed one trout on the same rigging.

Bluegill: A No Pan fish were reported this week.

Crappie: The crappie bite has slowed up to zip.

Carp: These fish are saving themselves for another time.
