Fish Plants: 1500 lbs February 14th, 2013

The bass went deep so fish were its steep. Pummel the points or be an island hopper to get a keeper. Fishing at 40 or 50 feet with an ice jig, drop shot, or Carolina rig can't be beat. Bass are biting on plastic. Fish a straight tail, brush hog, or big worm to nail a largemouth.
STRIPER
Stripers are hitting here and there but it has been tough. Swimbaits, anchovies and sardines are the choice of the week.
CATFISH
There were no reports of catfish this week. Typical bait for the cats are nightcrawlers, chicken liver and shrimp.
TROUT
We had a few reports of trout this week. We just stocked on the 22nd with 1000 pounds of rainbow trout. Rainbows have been coming in from people using mini jigs, powerbait and powerworms. 7 year old Luis Garcia from San Jacinto caught a nice 5.06 lb trout in the first shoreline cove using powerbait.
PANFISH
Redear , crappie and blue gills have been missing in action. Most common bait is mealworms, redworms, and nightcrawlers.
