In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Half day Bass boats are available Mon-Thurs for 35$ each.

The Trout fishing has been good with some limits being taken out of Boat Dock Cove. The second of back to back plants is scheduled for Wednesday and could contribute to the best fishing of the year so far if the weather remains clear. The biggest Trout of the past week belonged to George Hartfiel of San Marcos who landed a 7.90# rainbow on a mouse tail in Boat Dock Cove. Other notable catches included Jesse Tran's 6.65# and Jim Hopson's 6.45# Trout. Mouse tails seem to have taken over as the bait of choice.
