Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Half day Bass boats are available Mon-Thurs for 35$ each.

Trout fishing is good with some limits being taken in Boat Dock Cove and stretches of Willow Cove. The biggest Trout of the past week belonged to Stephan Casteel of Carlsbad caught on a nightcrawler along Senior Shoreline. Matt Herrera of Vista has the leader for January at 5.90#s taken on a powerworm in Willow Cove. Salmon eggs have been the hot bait but inflated nightcrawlers and or powerbait continue to do well.

The oversized Blue Catfish continue to feed. Fanta Phanthilath brought in a 31.15# cat on New Year's Eve using mackerel west of Senior Shoreline. The second thirty pound plus fish in two weeks could mean conditions are favorable for the lake record of 38#s to fall any day now.
