Fish Report for 12-10-2012
Cachuma Lake trout fishing was hit or miss and Bass fishing was slow. Catfish were the best bet
12-10-2012
Cachuma Lake Staff
Trout fishing was hit or miss this week at Lake Cachuma. Some anglers did well others came away empty. Shoreanglers liked inflated crawlers and PowerBait at the marina point, E Point and Mohawk pier. Trollers flat-lined firetiger Kastmasters. Rapalas did OK in Cachuma Bay or near the dam.
The Bass bite was slow at best. The handful of Bass that were caught were taken on nightcrawlers. Catfish are one the your best options at the moment. The best areas to fish for the kitties are Storke Flats, and Johnson's where fish have been taken to 6 lbs. Bowfishing was decent as well, and with a little work you could call it good fishing. Crappie and redear were a no-show.
There will be a 4,000 lb. plant from Calaveras Trout farm on Thursday, December 13th.
