Fish Report for 12-3-2012
Trout fishing was the hot topic this week at Lake Cachuma
12-3-2012
Cachuma Lake Staff
Trout fishing has been very good this last week with several quality fish weighed in at the marina. Trollers working the buoy line, Cachuma Bay, Harvey's Bay and the dam did well with flat-lined Rapalas and Kastmasters. Shore anglers scored with inflated nightcrawlers and PowerBait on E Point and the Mohawk Pier.
Catfish are still on the chew at Cachuma especially where there is run-off flowing into the lake. Cut mackerel has been the bait of choice for the kitties.
Both Bass species are still on the slow side with only a few being reported last week. Bow fishing was good for anyone willing or brave enough to brave the elements. The rainfall brought a lot of Carp to the surface to feed. Panfish were hard to come by and those that were caught were caught incidentally.
