The Calaveras trout that were planted on Nov 3rd have acclimated well to the lake. That coupled with a slight drop in water temperatures had the trout chewing big time over the holiday week. Almost every stringer seemed to have one 4 to 6 lb. 'bow. People trolling faired well-flat lining Krocodiles, Rapalas, Kastmasters and Needlefish with the dam being the hot spot for the lunker rainbows. Shore anglers did well at E Point, the marina point and Mohawk pier. Inflated nightcrawlers dipped in Berkeley garlic or PowerBait accounted for most of the bank fish. The next plant will be Thursday December 13 from Calaveras Trout Farm.

It was most slow for bass with the smallies making a better showing than the largies. Most bass were caught either drop shotting or fishing jigs. Carp have been on the banks and the backs of coves on sunny days. They will provide decent action for bowfishermen. People who targeted Catfish did well in Johnsons and Clarks using cut mackerel.
