The recently planted trout have provided only fair action so far, but as the lake cools the bite should improve. Anglers fishing PowerBait and/or inflated crawlers at loop trail and E point had the most success, with rainbows to 5 lbs. that were weighed in at the marina. Trollers had difficulty connecting. The fish that were taken reacted to flat lined Rapalas near the mouth of Harvery's and Cachuma Bay.

The Bass bite improved this past week and some limits were taken. Jigs, texas rigs, deep cranks and spinnerbait were the baits that worked best.

Anglers who chose to go for Kitties did well with cut mackerel in the narrows and Johnson's Bay. Bowfishing for Carp was a good choice with fish holding along the bank and in the backs of shallow coves. Mid-morning to early afternoon were the best times. The Crappie bite has tapered off as only a handful of panfish were reported.
