Hello from your Lake Jennings!
The trout pulled their disappearing act this weekend which is not unusual. It generally takes 2 to 3 plants to build up inventory to where they start to bite. The bass and cats continue to be the best bet. Creature baits in 25 to 35' of water during the day and Gunfish along the weed edge the first and last hour of daylight. The cats are the same as last week.

Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove and anywhere along the dam buoyline Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally. Best Bass Spots: Fish the weed line early and late with Gunfish and frogs. Morning Dawn worms or creature baits in 25 to 35 ft. of water Best Bass Lures/Bait: Morning Dawn or black power worms and Gunfish Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch and Eagle point but they were not very good.

Prognosis: There is nothing to slow down the good bass and cat bite until the lake chills way down. Somebody will figure out the trout. Last weekend they didn't. It usually takes 3 or four stocks to build enough inventory for the fishing to improve. Ask us and we'll tell you what we know. This time of year produces accidental catches of cats by trout anglers so fish with an open bail or the cat may get your rod.

Water Temperature: 72 degrees on surface
