"What a day," said the report from Shogun October 16. "Fishing today was nothing short of excellent. The action started off early and continued at a steady pace all the way through lunch. The yellowtail were up early this morning and they were ready for breakfast. For the next few hours 16 to 25-pound yellows rained over the rail at a steady clip as the fish were devouring yo-yo irons as well as dropper looped sardines. Later on in the morning, the bite switched over a bit when a swarm of hungry dorado swam in and took over till it was time to leave. Later on in the afternoon lucky angler Ray Musselman connected with an absolute trophy 75-pound wahoo that put the cherry on top of an already excellent day of fishing.

"Our weather today was very enjoyable with very little wind and a nice cool cloudy sky for most of our day. We did have a bit of breeze in the afternoon, but nothing too uncomfortable. Tonight our plan is to anchor up for a comfortable night of sleep then head offshore in search of tuna."
