Catfish are on the chew at Lake Cachuma, with some Bass action

9-24-2012
Cachuma Lake Staff

Catfish are providing the most consistent action on all types of baits. Johnson's, Sweetwater and Clarks' and the narrows have been the hot spots. Although the kitties have been just about everywhere on the lake.

Both largemouth and smallmouth have been inconsistent at best. There is some top water action early, then spoons or jigs later in the day.

Crappie have also been showing up , although there haven't been many people targeting the slabs lately. Trout fishing is very slow with no trout reported at the marina last week. Look for plants either in late October or early November. There were also no reports of Bluegill or Carp.
