Channel Islands Sportfishing
Another gorgeous day here at the beautiful Channel Islands. The Mirage returned today from an outer island overnight adventure with solid counts for day. They had limit style fishing for all 23 anglers along with a handful of lingcod, ocean whitefish and a nice outer island grumpy yellowtail. The full day boats the Island Tak, Cobra, Sea Jay and Aloha Spirit hit the shallows again. They had good calico scored along with sheephead, sand bass, lingcod and rockfish. The Cobra also had the opportunity to put the gaff to a nice island flat fish. The Gentleman and Erna B returned from ? day trips with a nice haul of cod, sculpin, lings, sheephead and ocean whitefish. Overall the conditions have been great and seem to be picking up with the water temps. 8-15-2012With all this warm water rolling in fast the seabass and squid are still sticking around. The Mirage returned today from a 2 day trip with filled sacks and happy anglers. They scored 17 calico bass, 2 flat fish, 2 day limits of big outer island cod, over 200 fat ocean whitefish along with a handful of lingcod, sculpin and sheephead.
