"We prospected in an area today where we had found some very promising life during our last voyage," noted Intrepid's report for August 8. "Those of you that were with us from the Nor-Cal Tuna Chasers Club remember well just what we had found and how excited we all were about the possibilities. Well, it didn't turn out quite like we had hoped for, as we got into the area we found several large schools of porpoise feeding very heavily on the immense bait balls that were there and had it scattered all over the place. The day was not a loss though, as we found and fished kelps all day long to scratch together a decent day on Yellowfin, Yellowtail, and Dorado. The gang had a fun time pulling on fish on almost every kelp we found today. Many fish were just too small for us to tag and were released to grow another day while others were just what we needed."
