"With one day of fishing left," recalled the American Angler report for August 8, "we crossed our fingers that today we would end it with a bang. Having struggled a little yesterday, we put on our game faces and went to work. By mid morning you definitely got the feeling that we were not on them or that they were down - we hit kelps all morning and early afternoon for small results, but we kept faith that just maybe we would get one last hoorah.
Making one more pass through the zone just after lunch before calling it a trip, the tuna gods blessed us with a biting school of those premium 25 to 40-pound yellowfin. When the smoke finally cleared, everyone could high five because they were able to pull on one before we kicked it for home. What a great way to end the trip."
