Trout: April has had its highs and lows so far. Weather permitting the catches have been good. Kyle and Jack Lewis of Sabre Springs were anchored at Paradise cove and combined to limit with 12 lb 4 oz of rainbows with green Power bait. Jessie Crewell. photo #1 from Bonita was in Horseshoe cove when he fooled a 2 lb plus 'bow with a nightcrawler. Jim Alley from Coronado nailed a 7 lb 2 oz'er with a rapala near the dam.

Bass: The bass are beginning to move about the lake as water temperatures are beginning to rise. Several 'Catch and Release' bass were reported this week. Notably John Malzahn from El Cajon was here two different days and caught a 7 lb12 oz, pictured above and an 8 lb Large Mouth.

Catfish: The cats have been taking the bait, mostly night crawlers near the shore or trolling the middle of the lake. Bucking that trend was Donna Baldino from Descanso fooling a 7 lb cat with a nightcrawler in Paradise cove.

Carp: Still splashing, they like corn and corn meal balls.

Blue Gill: No action on the Blue Gill here lately.

Crappie: No sign of Crappie yet. Stay tuned as water temps are beginning to rise in the shallow coves. Get your favorite 'jigs' ready.
