"We arrived yesterday around 0400," said the report from Intrepid December 11, "in time to catch some big baits to use during our first day here in the 'zone.' Fishing was a little tough to start out, but after searching around we found a nice spot of fish and picked away at the 100 to 150-pound class Tuna all afternoon. Big fish honors of the day however, go to David Berutich who landed a new personal best and fish of a lifetime with a 310 lb. Super Cow. Dave Caught the fish with an Avet 50 W, 130-pound Tuff Line Hollow Spectra with a 130-pound Izorline topshot and a 10/0 Mustad hook matched with a Super Seeker 6364 XXXXH rod with a flying fish for bait. A big fish and new personal best have also come to Gary Arndt with his first Cow Tuna coming in this morning (our second day here) at 210 pounds and another big boy to Cephus Daniels. At the time of this report 0800 we have boated 36 Tuna anywhere from 40 to 215 pounds, with gray light being a very busy time for us. We have another four days here at the island and hope to keep it rolling. Pictured with the supercow is Crewman Scott Shurko, Capt. Kevin Osborne and angler David Berutich."
