A slow week for charters but unquestionably an up-tick in the fishing reports with a 50% billfish catch ratio and fair numbers on dorado and yellowfin tuna. The only blue marlin for the week was landed aboard the "Gaviota X", skippered by Captain Julian Ruiz. The smaller blue marlin, estimated at 250 lbs., was released. The overall catch reports for a total of 12 days fished reflected 1 blue marlin released, 6 stripers released, 18 yellowfin tuna to 45 lbs. and 31 dorado that ranged from 15-27 lbs. The mainstay of the fishing continues to be on the Pacific side of Cabo with the area in the vicinity of Migrino producing the most billfish and dorado.

Cabo Climate:
Partly cloudy days with intervals of sunshine. Light and variable surface breezes and temps from 72 nights to 97 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Overall, very fishable on both sides of the peninsula with the Pacific side being best for catching. Temps ranged from 81-84 on the Pacific side, with the warmer waters near the Jaime Bank and climbing to 85 off Cristobal and around to Cabo and continuing to rise to 87-88 at the Gorda Banks.

Best Fishing Area:
The fish continue to be scattered about with the bulk of the catches coming from the area surrounding Migrino, on the Pacific side.

Best Lure/Bait:
Live bait was best for the billfish and dorado, too, and the tuna best on cedar plugs and darker colored tuna feathers.
