The DFG planted catchable-size trout this week in the following area waters: Tehama County- Deer Creek, South Fork Battle Creek; Plumas County- Jamison Creek, Little Grass Valley Reservoir, Middle Fork Feather River; Shasta County- Baum Lake, Clear Creek near Whiskeytown, Iron Canyon Reservoir, Kilarc Reservoir, Lower-Upper Burney Creek, Sacramento River, Middle-Upper Hat Creek; Siskiyou County- Kangaroo Lake, McCloud River, Medicine Lake, McCloud River Fowlers, Sacramento River; Trinity County- Carrville Dredge Pond, East Fork Trinity River, Lewiston Lake, Trinity River.

8-17-2011Bass Action Even though plenty of catfish were still being caught, the largemouth bass bite moved into the spotlight this week at Irvine Lake, reported Jimmy Getty at the Pro Shop. "Good bass catches were pretty commonplace this past week", observed Getty. Deer CreekHeading up Highway 32 is a good choice for some R&R, reported Tom Morgan at Foothill Outfitters in Forest Ranch. "The planted trout fishing on Deer Creek has been very good, regular plantings have been going on all summer", observed Morgan.
