Hello Excel fan's

Well, today was the best day on bluefin so far for us this season. Not only was there a good number of bluefin caught today, but they were second to none in the quality department. Around 7 am. we saw a very nice sonar mark and when we got over the top of the mark on the meter my eyes lit up. We got stopped on the fish and they boiled up pretty good. The angler's that got a bait out as soon as we stopped got hooked up as soon as there bait started to swim. This first stop we were under gunned and we had broken rods and reels, line breaking, and in other words, we had a very high casualty rate.We landed 4 fish out of 11 hook ups and the fish we landed were 90 to 120 pounds. On our second school which was another good spot we were a little bit more prepared. We hooked 15 bluefin and ended up with a total of 10 fish on the deck at the end of our drift and they weighed 115 to 155 pounds. They put on a pretty good show for us for the duration of our drift. Our last two drifts were pretty productive, on second to last drift we had 10 more 100 to 150 pound bluefin to our tally, and on our last spot, which was our biggest school, pulled 20 more bluefin from 70 to 110 pounds. They stuck with us the longest and put on quite the show for us. We had them chasing surface poppers, Eating the jigs, and boiling all around the boat. A great way to end the day. Tonight we are going to try to catch some mackerel and come back out here tomorrow.Wish us luck and enjoy the pictures. The firs one is of a group of happy anglers who got these big bluefin on our second drift.
