Happy Cinco De Mayo everybody, ,
Today we spent the day off the bank looking for bird schools and finally found what we were looking for at around 1300. There was a pretty good area of fish that came up and when we got over to it all hell broke loose. We had 100 to 300 pound fish going through the corner and biting everything that went in the water. We caught fish on the sardines, mackerel, and even by casting a yummee flyer we caught fish. The fish in my opinion bit too good but we salvaged 34 fish from 100 to 215 pounds. For the 34 we landed we lost a lot of big ones due to sharks, tackle failures, and burn offs, like I said, they bit too good. We have one more day in this zone and we hope to have a better idea of what is around and hope to land some of the giants we saw yesterday. Wish us luck.

Tuna on the other hand was really slow again with only 6 fish from 60 to 180 pounds being brought aboard whole and the heartbreaking last fish of the day for angler Vic Villa who fought his fish all the way to color before a pack...... Hello Anglers,
Today was another hot and sunny day out here on the "Hurricane Bank" with almost no wind and some good fishing to go with it. The tuna were on the tough side but the wahoo made up for them by biting very well today. We ended up with 65 wahoo for the day and the way that we caught these was what was special. Most of the wahoo came on the surface iron and chunks on wire leaders. It...... Read More
