After weeks of summer weather we finally saw the unpredictability that is common for the early part of the season as a cold front came through dropping temperatures into the 40's and 50's and even a dusting of snow. Despite the cooler weather, fishing has improved considerably over the past few days.

On June 7th South Lake finally filled up enough to get a load of fish from of the California Department of Fish & Game. As you can see from the pictures, it was no easy task to get those fish in the water as the South Lake staffers had to hold a 20 foot section of 9 inch PVC pipe full of water and fish well over their heads for a few minutes while the fish emptied out of the truck. Is that dedication or what?! South Lake will be planted on a weekly basis from now through the end of the season.
