Bluefin Show In Better Weather
6-11-2011
Bill Roecker
"Our weather today was much improved," said the report from Royal Polaris June 10, "overcast with 12 to 16 knots of breeze. There were 3 boats in the area today and for 2 of them it was excellent fishing on Bluefin tuna from 30 to 40 pounds.
Unfortunately we did not find the right school and ended the day with 33 Bluefin tuna. We did give it our best, but unfortunately the fish gods were not smiling upon us.
"For those of you on the next five-day and the two seven-day trips the outlook is quite good on the Bluefin and I do believe Albacore will soon follow. Tomorrow we will be fishing an area 40 miles above today's position, where the spotter plane has reported small boilers of Albacore and Bluefin tuna. We will be able to give it a few hours in the morning, before calling it a trip."
