3-31-2011
Larry Edwards

It was just a fabulous fishing week from Puerto Morelos that produced another wide-spectrum mixed bag catch, consisting of 11 different species. Better yet, the sailfish bite picked up a bit and showed promise for an extended billfish season this year, which normally peaks during the month of May. The overall catches for a total of 35 combined fishing days reflected 15 sailfish, 1 dorado, 19 yellowfin tuna, 7 Atlantic barracuda, 10 king mackerel, 5 bonito, 31 triggerfish, 9 Spanish mackerel, 7 banana fish, 31 grouper and 43 snapper. The Marina El Cid Sportfishing Fleet from Puerto Morelos is rapidly becoming famous for its good fishing and close fishing proximity.
