Unusually slow for anglers and for fishing and the first time in years that we have a week with no billfish reflected in the fish counts. The offshore fishing reflected a barren ocean this past week on both sides of the peninsula and the boats that did fish focused on the inshore waters for small game fish action with Sierra being the fish of the week. The ever-changing sea temperatures surrounding the lower Baja tip have changed daily and on some days, more than once and while that is normal for March/April, it sure wreaks havoc with the fishing. The fish counts for this past week for a combined total of 6 days fished reflected 19 yellowtail, (jurel) 27 Sierra, 5 yellowfin tuna and 6 skipjack tuna.

Cabo Climate:
Lots of sunshine with occasional passing clouds and temps that ranged from 61 nights to 86 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Cool water on the Pacific side @ 65 degrees, with a gradual warming toward Cabo San Lucas to 69 degrees. Temps slowly rising from the Palmilla Ridge @ 71 to 73 degrees at the Gorda Banks. A 5 square mile plume of 75-75 degree water just NE of the outer Gorda Bank. Constant changing conditions and lots of green water.

Best Fishing Area:
The better inshore fishing was at "Margaritas", on the Pacific side.

Best Lure/Bait:
Live bait for the yellowtail along with yoyo and butterfly jigs. Live sardinas, (when you could get them) for the sierra were best.

Bait Supply:
Mostly caballitos with a pretty good supply but the sardina supply was scarce.
