3-24-2011
Larry Edwards

Captain Temo Verboonen reported a very good marlin bite, both black & blues, just 10 miles offshore from Zihuatanejo Bay. Sailfish were biting well in this same area, too and the skippers were reporting multiple strikes on the billfish everyday. Captain Chiro Barrigan, "Bloody Hook", reported 3 sailfish released and another missed for his client, Mr. Del Gallenger and son, fishing on March 23, 2011. He also reported catching several Sierra that they used for trolling for the blacks & blues, but didn't get the lucky bite. The inshore fishing remains good and producing good catches of Jack Cravelle, green jacks, chulas, Sierra and African pampano, with the better fishing on deep running lures near the rocks.

IZ Climate:
Sunny & warm days with a few passing clouds and very pleasant evenings and nights with temps from 71 nights to 89 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions:
Mostly calm with light tropical surface breezes. Inshore temps at 80 degrees and rising to 82 in the offshore waters, just beyond the 100 fathom curve.

Best Lure/Bait:
Rigged baits best for the sailfish and deep running Rapalas for the inshore fishing.
