Trout action was excellent this week with anglers using Power Bait ( especially rainbow, lime twist, salmon peach and garlic), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Lots of trout limits many ( over 3 lbs.) were caught. Hot spots included the western and eastern shore of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shore of lake 2. Catfish were biting on mackerel, guts and shrimp from the western shore of lake 3 and the northern shore of lake 2. Bite over all was best before 11am with an afternoon kick after 2pm.

Catches of the Week:
Apple Valley angler, Paul Miller scored a limit that included 5 Lbs 2 Ozs , 5 Lbs 3 Ozs and 5 Lbs 6 Ozs rainbows. He used salmon peach Power Bait and fished the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Ron Rendleman of Oak Hills reeled in a 4 Lbs 11 Ozs trout using salmon peach Power Bait from the north shore of lake 2. Jim Perky of Montclair used a silver Kastmaster to scored his 5 Lbs 2 Ozs and 5 Lbs 6 Ozs rainbows to limit from the eastern shore of lake 2. Rancho Cucamonga angler, Matthew Chichella, caught a 4 Lbs 11 Ozs trout from the grassy point of lake 3 on garlic Power Bait. Jay Brandford of Apple Valley caught a limit that included a 3 Lbs rainbow. He fished eastern logged shore of lake 3. Another Rancho Cucamonga angler, James Trimmer caught a limit that included a 3 Lbs 15 Ozs rainbow. He used a yellow/white Trout Teaser from the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Anthony Martinez of Glendora scored a 5 Lbs 6 Ozs trout using garlic Power bait from the eastern shore of lake 3. Eddie Rodriguez Jr. of Hesperia caught his 5 Lbs 2 Ozs rainbow on a Trout Teaser from the the north shore of lake 2. His Dad, Eddie Rodriguez Sr. reeled in a 3 Lbs 10 Ozs trout using an orange Power Worm while fishing the north shore of lake 2 as well. Both father and son left with limits of trout. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
