Warmer weather and still waters (no wind) slowed the bite but anglers who worked their tackle and baits caught trout. Power Bait ( especially sherbet, spring green, salmon peach and rainbow), night crawlers, lures and jigs all produced limits and some nice sized fish. Hot spots included the western and eastern shore of lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2. Catfish were hitting shrimp and night crawlers from the eastern shore of lake 2 and the western shore of lake 3 with the biggest weighing 16 Lbs 5 ozs. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.

Catches of the Week: Apple Valley angler, Jerry Young, caught a 4 Lbs 5 Ozs rainbow using sherbet Power Bait from the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Manny Estrada of Adelanto reeled in his 5 Lbs 2 Ozs trout on a rainbow trout Thomas Buoyant from the western shore of lake 3 near the drain. Jeff Pappas of Hesperia scored a 16 Lbs 5 Ozs catfish on a shrimp/nightcrawler combo while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the drain. Ten year old, Jessica Vigil, of , caught her 5 Lbs 9 Ozs rainbow using a night crawler from the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Mark Jennings of Riverside reeled in a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on an orange Power Worm while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2 near the wall.
