Cold temperatures didn't keep anglers from enjoying some fine winter fishing. Trout action was excellent on both lakes with anglers using Power Bait (especially salmon peach, garlic, spring green and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures ( jakes, thomas buoyants, power worms) to catch lots of limits. Hot spots included the western and eastern shore of lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2.

4. Larry Pete of Hesperia caught his 7 Lbs 2 Ozs rainbow on a blue Thomas Buoyan near the bridge on the western shore of lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes.

Catches of the Week: Victorville angler, Greg Atkins scored a 9 Lbs 3 Ozs rainbow on yellow and green Power Eggs from the north shore of lake 2. Larry Pete of Hesperia caught his 7 Lbs 2 Ozs rainbow on a blue Thomas Buoyant also near the bridge on the western shore of lake 3. Stewart Kwoh of Los Angeles reeled in a 4 Lbs 6 Ozs using salmon peach Power Bait from the eastern shore of lake 2. Victorville angler, John Herrera, caught a 3 Lbs 8 Ozs trout using lime twist Power Bait while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2. Chuck Moree of San Bernardino fished the eastern shore of lake 2 and caught a 4 Lbs 2 Ozs rainbow on garlic Power Bait. Phil Bott also of San Bernardino reeled in a 3 Lbs 4 Ozs trout using garlic Power Bait. Five year old, Elijah Huynh, of Arcadia reeled in a 3 Lbs 11 Ozs rainbow on yellow Power Bait from the grassy point. David Tapia of Hesperia caught a 5 Lbs 4 Ozs trout using a lure from the eastern shore of lake 2. Ricardo Cruz of Ontario used salmon peach Power Bait to catch his 4 Lbs on the southwestern shore of lake 3. Gary Chinn of Barstow reeled in a 3 Lbs rainbow on corn yellow Power Bait from the north shore of lake 3. Armando Acevedo of Chino reeled in a 4 lbs 6 Ozs rainbow on a Trout Teaser while fishing the north shore of lake 3. Los Angeles angler, Richard Rivera, used salmon peach Power Bait to catch his 4 Lbs 5 Ozs trout from the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Merv Shandor of Victorville reeled in 5 Lbs 11 Ozs and 3 Lbs 11 Ozs rainbows using salmon peach Power Bait while fishing the northern shore of lake 2. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
