Silver Lake Fishing Report
8-1-2010
Andrew Jones
Fishing has continued to be stellar this week with over 30 fish two pounds and above being caught. It seems like whatever type of fishing you enjoy; still fishing, trolling or fly fishing, anglers have been catching nice trout all over the lake and stream. If you enjoy still fishing, "The Point" where Alger Creek comes into Silver lake or at the far south end of the lake where Rush Creek enters Silver Lake has been the hot spots using Zekes Sierra Gold, or Salmon Peach, Salmon Egg Red or Garlic Power Bait. If you enjoy trolling, using a Thomas Buoyant, Tasmanian Devil or streamers like a Green Wooly Bugger or Hornberg has also been producing nice fish this week. If you are a Fly Fisherman, using a #16 Mosquito or a #18 Black Gnat with a Red tail have been doing well. Along Rush Creek, worms, Salmon Eggs and Various dry flies have been doing great on stockable size trout. DFG stocked again this week, making two straight weeks of stocking by DFG so we are excited that we are once again on a regular weekly stocking schedule. Look for more Alpers Trout to go into Silver Lake this coming week or the previous week. Happy Fishing and Good Luck.
