Not too many anglers but the offshore fishing has taken off and producing good catches of mixed billfish that included blue marlin, striped marlin and sailfish and a couple of handfuls of yellowfin tuna to round out the catches. Overall catches for 7 days fished reflected 1 blue marlin, 6 stripers, 12 sailfish and 10 yellowfin tuna. According to the skippers, the offshore waters are finally starting to shape up and produce good billfish acttion over a wide span of water out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid. The inshore super pangas reported in for 4 days fished and reflected good variety fishing with 3 roosterfish, 6 toro, (jack cravelle) 3 dorado, 35 pargo, 39 roncachos and limits of mojarres.

Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy days but warm with temps from 74 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Excellent conditions throughout the area with water temps from 83-85; light surface winds and very little swell and excellent, clear, blue water

Best Fishing Area: Out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid at about 20 miles or so.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged mullet baits, slow trolled in the outriggers working best for the billfish.

Bait Supply: Remains good for rigged baits and live bait.
