General Manager Armando Gutierrez, reporting for the Marina El Cid sportfishing Fleet, says that the fishing continues to be very good for both, inshore and offshore fishing, with the longer 6 & 8-hour charters having better successes with the sailfish. He said the offshore bite on the sailfish was really better than the numbers but for whatever reason, the sailfish were "short biting" and not staying stuck to the hooks. Overall counts for 12 days fished reflected 6 sailfish, 17 dorado, 1 grouper, 12 bonito, 4 Atlantic barracuda, 3 yellowfin tuna and one amberjack in the mixed bag catches.
PM Climate: Mostly cloudy with some intermittent sunshine periods, temps from 75 nights to 87 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Water temps creeping up to 82 degrees and stable throughout the area. Light easterly surface winds to 15 knots.
Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo for the Caribbean Coast at Puerto Morelos.
