Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report

6-19-2010
Andrew Jones

Silver Lake has had a decent week of fishing, despite the winds blowing most of the week. We have continued to see some very nice smaller browns and cutthroats being caught this week, as well as a few larger rainbows. The water is still getting warmer so fishing will only continue to get better as we head towards July. The hatch has definitly started with mosquitoes and dark mayflies working good along Rush Creek between Silver and Grant Lake. The standard worms and Dough Baits have been working from Silver Lake shore this week, with Grape nymph and Salmon Egg Red working the best. Also the Pink Bubblegum Thomas Buoyant has been a hot topic of conversation this week with several nice Cutthroats being caught using it.

Don't forget about Silver Lake Resorts 4th of July Weekend Horseshoe Tournament which will happen on Saturday July the 3rd. Thirty to thirty five teams will play in the horseshoe tournament with food, music and lots of other fun activities, come out and help support The Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship.

The Silver Lake Resort is a full service resort in June Lake, CA. We offer accommodations for fisherman throughout the trout season. We have cabins for all size groups, an RV park, a Cafe with fabulous food and a general store to meet your needs. If you would like to book a trip to Silver Lake call them at (760) 648-7525.
