Silver Lake Fish Report
6-5-2010
Andrew Jones
Silver Lake has been holding its own this week compared to the other lakes in the loop (June, Gull & Grant). We have seen several nice fish come out of the lake this week from both the shore and from boats fishing the far South end of Silver Lake. Rush Creek has also been producing some very nice stockers all week long. The water is slowly starting to warm up as the weather continues to get better and the bugs are beginning to come out. If you are going fishing along Rush Creek try using some dry flies like a black knat or some small nymphs with a fly rod or a fly and a bubble. In the lake this week, using Dough Bait; Salmon Egg Red or Chartreuse Orange, has been doing decent from shore and still fishing out in a boat. Also working well is Thomas Buoyant Flash Red and Pink Bubble gum. It seems like using anything bright in color is attracting the fish this week. As the water continues to warm up, look for the fish to start coming to the surface more. Good Luck and Happy Fishing! Don't forget about Silver Lake Resort and The Federation of Fly Fisherman's annual Rush Creek Cleanup and Free Hotdog Roast Saturday June 19th at 9 am at the Silver Lake Boat Launch area. Come help keep Rush Creek clean and free of debris.
