The anglers who fished for Salmon caught a few fish near the Soquel Hole at 36'51/121'57 to 36'52/122'03. The Salmon are still ranging from 90-150 feet down. The Halibut are still coming in to Santa Cruz so this summer should be a good one. I trolled from 50-75 feet of water near the Harbor tiday and ended up with a 26 pound Halibut. The Halibut feel for a Blue Kajiki Daisy Chain with a Squid Trailer. There were a few other fish caught in the same area. The Rockcod fishing was great at South Rock. The wind came up around noon at the Hole and 1:30 near the Harbor.

5-16-2007The Salmon bite was about the same today with scores ranging from 0-2 fish a boat at the Soquel Hole. The best report was from a angler who was working from 36'51/121'59 to 36'49/121'59 in 270-300 feet of water. The angler had 2 Salmon in the 10-15 pound range. The fish were caught trolling 90-125 feet down using Blue Kajikis and Green Krippled Anchovies. The Halibut bite is still decent for the anglers working in front of the Santa Cruz...... Read More
