The Salmon bite was about the same today with scores ranging from 0-2 fish a boat at the Soquel Hole. The best report was from a angler who was working from 36'51/121'59 to 36'49/121'59 in 270-300 feet of water. The angler had 2 Salmon in the 10-15 pound range. The fish were caught trolling 90-125 feet down using Blue Kajikis and Green Krippled Anchovies. The Halibut bite is still decent for the anglers working in front of the Santa Cruz harbor and near Capitola in 45-60 feet of water. Some of the better scores have been coming from anglers who are trolling Purple Haze Kajikis and Squid. The wind started to blow early today on the Salmon grounds but the Halibut zone was not bad until 1:00. There were a few fish caught by anglers mooching with Squid so the schools may be getting bigger and more concentrated. The Rockcod fishing was decent for the anglers who fished near Natural Bridges and near the Mile Buoy in 75 feet of water. The wind was blowing to hard to run to Ano Nuevo or Davenport. The wind is expected to be less Thursday so come give it a try.
