Jess Ranch Lakes Fishing Report

Jess Ranch Lakes Staff

It was a beautiful holiday week after a rare new year's eve blue/full moon, with cold (32 degree) mornings warming to sixty degree afternoons with little or no wind. Anglers had to use everything in their tackle boxes to get their trout including Power bait ( especially salmon peach, orange, spring green and garlic), inflated night crawlers doused with attractant, jigs and lures, but those that persevered were rewarded with nice stringers of good sized trout. Many rainbows were near or over two pounds. Hot spots included the grassy point to the northern shore and the western shore near the drain of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2.

Attached Pics:
#1 Palmdale angler, Arvel Castleberry used an inflated night crawler to catch his 4 lbs 3 ozs rainbow from the middle northern shoreline of lake 2.

#2 Apple Valley angler, Aaron Jones reeled in a 4 lbs 9 ozs rainbow using orange Power Bait from the eastern shore of lake 2.

#3 Twelve year old angler, Andrew Garcia of La Mirada caught his 3 lbs 14 ozs trout on an inflated night crawler while fishing the eastern shore of lake 3.
