Anglers will find the mackinaw bite near the bottom of the inlet
9-6-2024
Mountain Hardware & Sports
At Donner Lake, boat anglers will find the mackinaw bite near the bottom of the inlet in 125 feet of water. For the best chances at catching macks here, drag a rapala, lyman lure, or a sierra spoon. For Kokanee anglers, there are some Kokanee holding out still with a few chrome fish being found around the 70-foot mark. For shore anglers, there’s still a decent shore bite by the boat ramp and China Cove. Power bait is the top choice for bait and kastmasters are the go-to lure. Donner Lake is at 80% capacity.
