Upper and Lower Lake Mary Report
8-30-2024
Arizona Game & Fish Department
Lower Lake Mary - The day use area is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Campgrounds along the Lake Mary Road corridor are open. The daily bag limit is 4 trout per day and 4 channel catfish per day. Northern pike are unlimited, but must be immediately killed or released. Only boats with a single 10-horsepower motor (or less) or a single electric motor are allowed on Lower Lake Mary. The lake is very weedy, water quality is poor, and fishing is very slow.
Upper Lake Mary - Statewide limits apply for the fish species in Upper Lake Mary, check your regulations (page 6). The main boat launches are open, and an electronic fee system is now in place. Nearby Lakeview and Pine Grove campgrounds are open. Target the edges of the weed line for northern pike and look for rocky shorelines and points for walleye. Anglers have been catching walleye and northern pike trolling night crawler harnesses and on lures. Northern pike are active and chasing bait fish at the upper end of the lake (Walnut Canyon inflow). Anglers were finding success with Rat-L-Traps, black-bodied spinnerbaits, and lures with flash and vibration.
