Whitehorse Lake Report
8-30-2024
Arizona Game & Fish Department
The campground and access to the boat launch are open. Only boats with a single electric motor are allowed on Whitehorse Lake. No gas-powered motors. The limit is 2 bass minimum size 13 inches, the limit is 4 channel catfish. Largemouth bass, black crappie, and bluegill are all active. Bait anglers were finding success over the weekend on small pieces of worms fished just off the bottom. Fly anglers were successful on Simi-seal leech patterns in olive and black and on #12 Prince Nymphs. Grasshoppers are present along the shoreline, so a hopper pattern may also produce. Soft plastics are working well on largemouth bass. The lake is very weedy and fishing is challenging for shore anglers. The Arizona Game and Fish Department Region 2 Aquatic Wildlife Program conducted a routine electrofishing survey of Whitehorse Lake on 7/18/2024. Below is a table summarizing the results of the survey.
