Water Conditions
The Feather River's water flow has slowed down a bit, and the temperatures are in the high 60s. Despite this, the river remains great for fishing.
Tips for the Week
Anglers fly fishing the Feather River can try a variety of techniques with flies or lures. For anglers fly fishing, nymphs or dries both work right now, but nymphs are producing the most bites. Anglers dry fly fishing can try using a variety of fly choices, see them below. Some other techniques to try are bouncing crawlers through rapids into pools with little or no weight, or using panther martins.
Suggested Flies, Lures, and Bait
Fly fishing enthusiasts are finding success with nymphs or dries. For nymphs - use pt nymphs, copper johns, or hares ear. For dries - use parachute adams, blue-winged olives, yellow humpys, or little sallies. If you prefer lures, try using panther martins and rooster tails in yellow/red or black/red.
