The Upper Deschutes is fishing well
8-23-2024
Fly and Field Outfitters
The Upper Deschutes is fishing well and the cooler the weather gets just means less and less mosquitos. Nymphing will still be your best option out there especially above Wickiup in the narrower sections with tungsten jig nymphs. Streamers like the Sculpzilla, dungeon, or bunny buster are great bets if you want to target some browns below Wickiup. Toss on a jigged pheasant tail, Berry’s PCP or hares ear below to get those rainbows as well. If you haven’t done the float from Tenino to Bull Bend, you’re missing out; it's a fun day-float to get on with your friends.
