Another heat wave forced most aqueduct anglers to fish early or late in the day, and the results were decent. Striper have been biting cut baits, bloodworms, and live minnows at a fair clip. They also fell for flukes, swimbaits, and jerkbaits during cooler parts of the day. Many anglers targeted catfish at night, and they were rewarded with good fishing. The whisker fish have been eating chicken liver, dip bait and cut baits soaked on the bottom after check gates. Several striper were also reported by the catfish anglers using chicken liver. Bass anglers have seen decent fishing early and late in the day with topwater and soft plastics working well.
