Fish Report for 7-19-2024
Bass anglers reported another good week of fishing
7-19-2024
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Nacimiento fell to 75 percent of its storage capacity, and bass anglers reported another good week of fishing. Spotted bass went after topwater lures early in the day, and then anglers switched to finesse baits to get bite. Drop shot, Ned rigs, and Neko rigs all fooled fish in the 10-to-20-foot zone. White bass took topwater lures near shad schools, and spoons, white Flukes, and in-line spinners fooled fish holding deeper in the water column. Recreational boat traffic made trolling difficult for white bass anglers. Catfish slurped up the usual offerings including cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver. Crappie were taken over submerged structure in 10 to 20 feet of water with minijigs and small live minnows producing well.
