Evening hit

A relaxing morning on the anchor scratching a few school size bluefin before venturing off in search mode for the afternoon. Seeing an abundance of fish previously thought absent one can certainly venture the belief now that it's only a matter of time. Lots of fish in multiple size classes were spread across fifteen to twenty miles. And plenty were big ones in the 120-200 pound class. Still a bit reluctant to bite much time was spent drifting along looking at machines brimming with fish unable to hook even one. Maddening! Were it not for one, odds defying evening hit where they dropped their guard we would have closed out the trip a little jaded. As it turned out we had a good shot in the old school way when one school blew up biting well presented fly lined sardines on the corner. Ah how refreshing and restorative. A sign of good things to come Captain Alex Natipadab, who has had the hot hand lately, is poised to get it done on the sole two day voyage of the season departing tomorrow. Final voyage photo features long time Royal Star angler and friend Bryan Cortez with this dandy, 80 pound class bluefin nabbed daytime on the trusty Colt Sniper.
