Following the night time grind was an incredibly satisfying morning of anchor fishing for 20-40 pound bluefin. A few larger models cleaned our clocks on the lighter gear but the challenge was welcomed with humor. The opportunity to sit and fish, the visual of fish crashing around, and the comfort of a smooth ride on the anchor made for a fine day. After dark we took another swing at the big boys with limited success. Not from a lack of fish, once again coaxing a bite out of the boomer schools proved to be the real challenge. Bastards. Settled into this zone we take another shot at them tomorrow. Today’s image features Royal Star veteran and friend Gary Vincent with the big fish of the day honors yet again. At 203 this dandy was a trip maker to be sure!
