Trout Creek Outfitters

This small amount of snow will only briefly hinder access out to the Little Truckee, with only a few inches on the road as of today. There have been a few new areas with some rockfall along the lower section, so drive out here with caution. As early as next week access should be back to normal with warmer days ahead. The fishing has slowed a bit with this last shift in weather and the BWO hatches have been a bit more sporadic than in recent weeks. This too could very well change with the warmer days next week, and if bugs aren’t present on top, nymphing should still remain good. The bugs will remain the same in the coming weeks, and BWO’s, midges, worms and eggs are gong to be the staples of these trout’s diet. The fishing pressure has finally decreased now that we have seen some cold weather, making now a good time to get out if peace and quiet is your thing.
