Fish Report for 9-22-2023
The lake fell to 67 percent of capacity and fishing has been fair to decent
9-22-2023
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake fell to 67 percent of capacity and fishing has been fair to decent. Bass anglers reported throwing reaction baits like crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures early and late in the day. The results have been hit or miss with some anglers doing well while others struck out. Finesse baits have been a more reliable option with drop shot 6” Roboworms in Margarita Mutilator, Aaron’s Magic, and Ox Blood all producing. Jigs with a Hula Grub trailer also scored some bites. Crappie ate live worms, small live shiners, and minijigs, and catfish slurped up dip bait, chicken liver, and cut anchovies on the Carolina rig.
