Ashurst Lake Fishing Report

6-26-2023
Arizona Game & Fish Department

Rainbow trout were stocked last week. Fishing was good over the weekend. For bait anglers, PowerBait and worms fished on the bottom are working well. Trolling small lures from a boat is still producing. Good fly patterns include: #10 bead headed black, brown, or olive Simi-seal leeches and wooly buggers, zebra midge, mayfly, dragonfly, damselfly, and hoppers. Only boats with a single 10-horsepower motor (or less) or a single electric motor are allowed on Ashurst Lake. The limit is 4 trout. The lake is about 90% full and water clarity is decent. Surface temperature 64.4 F, pH 8.9, D.O. 7.2 on 6/26/2023. A small algae bloom is developing along the shoreline.
